Building Radical Interdisciplinary Dialogues for Growth and Exchange: the club!
An informal journal club focused on the function and promise of the arts in transdisciplinary research, education, and design approaches. We generally pick one topical article each month and hold a casual evening discussion and reflection via zoom. Participants are a rotating cast of interested scholars and practitioners, from educators to artists, designers, futurists, researchers, and beyond. All are welcome.
We believe that the arts offer unique and essential structures that can bridge different forms of knowledge, creating connective tissue between the intellectual and the embodied, spanning distinct disciplinary approaches, and weaving together diverse cultural orientations. In our increasingly complex and rapidly changing world, we all benefit from the bridges that connect us across disparate ways of knowing. As makers, scholars, and educators, we aim to meet this moment by nurturing creative capacity in our communities, local and global, so that we can collectively imagine and build a future that is just, joyful, and ongoing for all of us.
